Periyar National Park Kerala

Periyar National Park is located in Thekkady Kerala. It is the most famous tourist spot in Kerala. Many people visit this place throughout the year.

History of Periyar National Park

In the 12th century, the construction of the Mullaperiyar dam started which leads to the formation of Periyar lake. The full-day safari starts within the early morning hours, while the last trip starts by three within the evening.
  • The timings for the night safari are 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

Best time to visit

Periyar national park is best to visit in the months of November to February. In the winter season, the climate will be very good and tourists can enjoy the weather also. The visitors in this season can also spot some beautiful birds, plants flowering, and many more. Another interesting activity is rafting and boat cruise.
