Retail South Asia Pvt. Ltd., has announced the brand launch of its flagship retail center VR
Chennai at a gala event held at the India Retail Forum 2017. It is India’s
largest institutionally owned developer-operator of lifestyle shopping centers.
Following
the successful launches of VR Surat in May 2013, VR Bengaluru in 2016. And
therefore the acquisition of North Country Mall now referred to
as VR Punjab – in early 2017. VR Chennai is an exciting

umbrella. The technicolor of the Madras Check, this striking contemporary

inspired by the soaring Gopurams of the temples of Chennai.
The temple design
The
façade of the mall sports a multi-colored design supported the
normal gopuram (South-Indian temple tower) inspired by Madras checks. Maps
of the Chera, Chola and Pallava dynasties of South India and their distinct
geographical spread are engraved on the walls at the doorway. The
doorway also features an oblong water path embellished with
white lilies. The outside walls of the façade sport symbolic carvings
meant as a cultural homage to the varied dynasties from the Kadamba
to the Vijayanagara.
The
central portion consists of motifs themed on the Dashavatara, the ten avatars
of Lord Vishnu within the sort of murals and installations. A
400-kg bell has been installed at a height of 10 feet inside the doorway.
Walls are adorned with murals painted by artists from Cholamandal Artists' the village also features inside the mall.
